OPEN ADOPTION
Open Adoption is the only way – closed adoption in alberta is done and over with! What does this mean for you? This means that you will look at family profiles, read their homestudies, and choose the family to be the parents to your child. It means that you will get to meet them and you will discuss your dreams for your relationship with your baby (and them). Together, you can plan visits and have open communication (Facetime, Messenger etc, Letters, Emails, Phone Calls, and in person!). There are no secrets. Open communication. Trust. Commitment. Honesty. All in the BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD
You can choose to have contact at a distance and not have close contact; the choice is entirely yours. We hope you would at least accept contact and updates through text, letters and photos of your child. This can help you feel at ease that your child is doing well with the life you’ve designed for them..
